After millennia as king of the dragon-shifters, Daniel Ashborne wants a little peace and quiet, especially from the beautiful Hollywood starlet who haunts his memories. His escape tactics end abruptly when he is called to the ER to save the one woman he wants to forget, but who now bears his mark.

Shelby Kincade’s life and movie career were nearly destroyed when Daniel vanished a year ago. Now he’s back, claiming they have been accidentally mated. Getting over him once was hard enough, but she must choose either the life of her dreams or the man she can’t live without. With peace finally on the horizon between the dragon-shifters and the Hunters, an assassination attempt on the dragon king and his mate shatters everything. Tensions rebuild as Daniel and his loyal team of shifters try to discover who put out the hit. Enemy and ally lines are crossed, but in the end--after the battle ash has settled--no one could have foreseen who has plotted for their own gain.

Excerpt:
A furious Daniel towered over her.
Realizing she was in an ambulance, she scooted back on the stretcher, pulling the sheet tighter around herself. Something was very, very off. There was no pain or range of motion issue with her shoulder. There was just a blackness where the last hour should have been. Whatever was wrong with her, it ran core deep, and had everything to do with the man treating her as if she’d caused all the wrongs in his world.
She let out a pathetic snort. He had vanished on her, leaving her to face the last year alone. The media wasn’t forgiving at the best of times, and they’d had a field day--field year--with America’s Good Girl falling from grace. A dead body, and the disappearance of the man accused of the crime, was too good of a story for the media not to run around the clock for a month straight.
It didn’t make any sense why he hated her. For as much hell as he’d caused her in the last eleven months, professionally and personally, nothing had prepared her for the blast of emotions that rocked her at seeing him standing close to her again. She had no idea what to do with the realization she’d missed him. As soon as she figured out what the hell was going on, she needed deep psychological help.
“So.” She was careful to keep her left arm tucked against her stomach as she tried in vain to put more distance between them. It still didn’t hurt, but the thought of ripping the rapidly healing wound open made her queasy. She’d never been a big fan of blood. Her teeth tugged at her bottom lip as she tried not to worry about how much space he took up, even while sitting on the bench. He was huge. “You’re alive.” When he leaned forward, bringing them closer together, she tried to keep her face impassive. Her gaze dropped to the huge forearms he braced against tree trunk-sized thighs, before she snapped her attention back to his face. He was a lunatic who looked to be on the verge of major violence. She wasn’t so confused she didn’t understand the combination was a powder keg with a lit fuse. “I wasn’t sure. The police said you were gone before the ambulance ever got to the hospital.”
“Disappointed, princess?”
She almost snorted at him. She’d spent the last year hoping he was still alive, and trying not to let the uncertainty drive her out of her mind. “I didn’t get myself shot on purpose, you know. So whatever you’re mad at me about, it’s not my fault. I didn’t ask them to call you.”
“Right.” He dragged his gaze from the mark over her heart back to her face. Though she was sure she was imagining it, she could have sworn his eyes lingered on her mouth. “Just like the Hunter showing up in your bedroom was just a weird twist of fate?”
“A hunter?” She asked, certain she was missing a huge part of the conversation. “Daniel, my house was in the most exclusive part of Los Angeles. There isn’t anywhere to hunt.”
“Ryuu.”
She remembered that word from their first date. He’d told her it was an ancient dragon curse because his sister didn’t like him using cuss words. Funny. She’d thought it was sweet at the time. Now she was sure it just made him bat-shit crazy.

My Review: 4 stars
Very interesting take on dragons. I liked the whole lore that Eden set up as background for the entire story. That's creativity, and I like it. I would like to say that I enjoyed the whole war thing, but I really didn't. The dragons fighting amongst themselves and fighting the hunters isn't something that I like, but it was well written. I enjoyed Shelby immensely. She was a no-nonsense kind of girl who just wanted the real deal. Well, she got more than she bargained for when she met Daniel. Then to find out she was his mate, threw them both for a loop. Daniel is the Dragon King. He's used to getting his way and doing the whole Alpha Male thing. Once Shelby comes back into his life, he gets challenged by what he's feeling and what he should do about it. The rest, well, the rest you're gonna have to read, cause I'm not giving it away. It is a very good story and it leaves lots of openings for many more books, which I'm totally looking forward to. Fantastic job Eden!
About the Author:

Convinced dragons have gotten a bad rep throughout time, and more than a little addicted to fairy tales and romance novels, Eden Ashe has decided to re-write history. In her version, the dragons are ancient warriors in tarnished armor, who not only deserve the girl in the end, but will fight forever for her.

His Muse by Kemmie Michaels with Giveaway, Excerpt, Author Interview & Review

Synopsis:

On vacation in the tropical paradise of St. Lucia...
Martin and Abby never intended to meet anyone while they were away. Circumstance, however, pushes them together in spite of their expectations. With an entire vacation week with nothing to do but spend time together, Martin and Abby forge a connection unlike anything either had felt before. With Abby’s conservative nature and Martin’s refusal to be the player he had once been, the couple keeps themselves physically apart...until they can’t.
They collide into a friction that sparks a blazing need to stay together. Keeping the heat alive from opposite ends of the country, though, may prove too difficult. Distance and circumstance become very ugly words in this couple’s vocabulary.

Excerpt:
He walked down the steps and dropped his bag next to the couch. As always when upset, he walked to his keyboard, plugged his headphones to inject the music directly into his ears. He played deep, rhythmic pieces that spoke to the heavy feeling in his chest. He connected with the music and played whatever he needed to get some tension out of his shoulders. After a long while of playing piece after piece, he began to ease into a better mindset. Finally, he let himself think about Abby.
He focused on those lips of hers again. He loved to watch them speak. He loved her smile and that little focused bite of hers. He allowed himself to remember that study of her lips when she held herself still, simply so he could experience every millimeter of her beautiful mouth.
He had touched and explored and licked every warm surface of her while she laid beneath him so sweetly. He remembered exactly the pressure of her full bottom lip under his teeth, just as he imagined. As he let his mind wander through that exploration, a song started to form in his head.
He experienced that study of her lips again, but this time through his fingers on the keys. The notes started light and feathery, hesitantly, just like the kiss had. He let the song grow in intensity, moving up and down the scales. The melody played out the soft brushes of his lips and the deep moves of his tongue.
The rhythm moved slowly, then sometimes quickly. The crescendo and decrescendo matched the shifting intensity of his body’s response to her. The forte moments of the song mimicked every sensation when he was so lost in her. Then, much like that precise, beautiful moment with Abby, the song ended on a pianissimo, peaceful, soft chord.
He was in awe of the moment he just lived through. He remembered every note he played, and he played the melody again with his eyes closed. The music came from her memory, not from his creation. The music was her and for her.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am a stay-at-home mom of two very different autistic boys (both are high functioning for which I am very thankful). I've been married to my adorable, goofy, and yet somehow still type-A husband for 16 years. These three men in my life are everything to me.

The other most important part of my life is being an author. I absolutely love to write and use my ability to live in alternate worlds in my head as a way to supplement our family income. I'm so blessed in so many ways.
The other thing you ought to know? I laugh too hard too often at thing which are usually too inappropriate to talk about. I have great friends and great fun in my life. Now that I've entered the world of bloggers and authors, I'm having even more fun

What do you do when you are not writing?

To be honest, I'm rarely 'not writing' :) Writing is now both my hobby and my job. I write every day because I love it and because I have too many ideas bouncing around my head. There are currently three book projects open on my desktop. I do break to feed my family and do the occasional chore, but for the most part, I'm writing...which is like living a dream. My first royalty check, though tiny, almost made me cry.

Do you have a day job as well?

No, I've been a stay at home mom for about ten years. I intended to return to my teaching career, but the kids have needed more/longer than we expected when doing our family planning, so I have stayed at home to keep up with the many therapies, diagnosis, pediatric neuropsychology exams, finding an alternative school, etc. Now that I'm writing, I'm hoping to contribute financially enough to continue to stay at home.

When did you first start writing and when did you finish your first book?

I started my first book at age 16...until I saw something shiny ;)   In terms of my "real" writing as of late, I started my first book in December of 2012, and by December of 2013 I'd finished/published three, and was ready to release the fourth (His Muse, of course).

How did you choose the genre you write in?

I caught the romance novel bug after getting my kindle for my birthday in 2012. I gobbled up book after book until I felt like writing one.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

I loved the series called "The Borrowers" when I was in elementary school. I loved the imagination involved. What a fun world to be in. Then in junior high I read the entire "Sweet Valley High" series and devoured those as well. Then high school killed my love of reading, and college used all my reading time for text books. By the time I was in grad school I had all but lost my desire to read, until a YA Lit class introduced me to Philip Pullman. "The Golden Compass" saved me...and then I met Dean Koontz's books. Poof, love of reading returned.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

Everything is imagination, but my friends laugh because "I" am in there. For example, in Unlikely Hero, Erin puts on fun socks to cheer herself up. Ahem...

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

My favorite part is the cabin in the third part of the book. I love the description of the cabin and the mountains around it. Not only that, but the passion between the two had already built, so there was no need to hold back. The loves scene where he begs her not to forget...that one got to me, even as I was writing it.

How did you come up with the title?

The title for His Muse was the easiest and most obvious title for anything I've written yet. The entire book is intertwined with his music and their relationship. The word "muse" defines who Abby is. It also defines Martin's inspiration.

What project are you working on now?

I am currently working on three books. One is a stand-alone that is more plot-driven than relationship-driven...because I always like to try something new. I can't wait to see if I can I pull it off. I'm also working on a playful, bantering, but very HOT romance, AND one which is the first book in a series of four. That one may be my favorite because the concept is something completely new for me (and maybe for most of the readers, too). I'm having a blast juggling all of them.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

Ha! Here's a list of my rookie mistakes:
1. Don't over-estimate your ability to make book covers. Having them done professionally ends up cheaper, easier, better. I can say from experience that Robin Ludwig Designs is FANTASTIC, and had a magical ability to take the messy scraps of my well-intended attempts and turned them into something amazing.
2. Dive into the world of bloggers BEFORE  you write (which I think most people do...just not me). Your releases will go better. Paying someone for a blog tour is worth it if you can afford it.
3. Avoid copious usage of the words "it" "just" and "that" - another rookie mistake that took a very long time to fix.
4. Remember how much fun writing is :)

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking a chance on a new author <3
My Review: 4 1/2 stars
This was a very interesting tale about love and finding your way through it. I believe this book showcases the fact that even though you may have love, that doesn't guarantee a happy ending. It takes work and sacrifice for that to happen. This was very well written, with very detailed descriptions of things. I understand how it was meant to come across, and in the right mood this would be a very sensual book to read. The Kemmie builds the relationship between Martin and Abby slowly and surely, building higher and hotter with each interaction. Their relationship is the same, it shows their commitment to each other while on opposite sides of the country. Martin and Abby only want each other. What they have to endure to get to that is both beautiful and heartbreaking. The moments that they do have together are so full of love and sensuality, sometimes raw lust and want. The passion that each had for their art was beautiful, but what surpassed that was their passion for each other. I loved the way the story ended, then went right into the Novella for Nick and Roula. Their story was hot and intense, just like they are. While not having seen each other for two years, when Nick and Roula finally do come back together the sparks fly. The attraction between them is fantastic and I was very happy with how their story ended as well. Kemmie did a fantastic job with both stories, and I loved all the characters so much.
Author Bio:
I love a good love story. I reread the first kiss a few times before I read on...even in my own books. That moment gets me every time no matter how often I revisit that beautiful connection. I dive into every story to the point where I have so many fictional boyfriends that I can't keep track of them all.
In the world of reality, I have a loving and tolerant husband who smiles and rolls his eyes every time I tell him about my latest fictional love affair. I have two autistic pre-teen boys who keep me on my toes. I have a psychotic Golden Retriever (I was told those don't exist...) and a cat that rules our house. I used to be the queen. Our regal feline has usurped my throne and demoted me to Prime Minister.
I studied English/Journalism at Miami University in Ohio, have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Dayton and I spent five years teaching even more personality-rich pre-teens. For some sick reason, I actually enjoyed teaching junior high. Now as a stay-at-home mom, I'm clinging to that status by throwing my hat in the author's ring and hoping I get to keep it there.

Missing Pieces

Synopsis

*Please note this is an updated version of a story previously published under the title ‘Inevitable’*

Seventeen-year-old Maddie Davis has spent her whole life on the move. With an unstable mother who has a knack for making bad decisions, she’s never stayed in one place long enough to remember its postcode. But this time is different… This time, she has been dragged half way across the world. Arriving in California and being forced to go back to school feels like stepping back in time. She wants to go home…

Until she meets Blaine Elwood – the stepson of an old family friend.

Blaine appears to have it all. To the outside world, quarterback Blaine is rich, confident and has the ‘arrogant bad boy’ image down to a tee. But nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. Nobody ever can. He has vowed never to let anyone get too close – let anyone discover how weak he is. So when new girl Maddie starts tugging at strings he didn’t know existed in his heart, his only option is to push her away…

Until he realizes how much he needs her.

Together, after being forced into adulthood from an early age, they begin to learn what it feels like to be young - to smile, to laugh... to love. So when shattered secrets and splintered lies start unraveling around them, will the trust they’ve worked so hard to build be irreparably destroyed? Or will they realize they are two pieces of the same broken puzzle?

(Not suitable for under 18’s due to scenes of abuse, sexual content and adult language)

He handed me three textbooks and pointed to a double table at the back of the room. My heart sank when I noticed a girl already sitting at it and started to pray that she was a ‘keeps herself to herself’ type.
I should’ve know better than to pray for the impossible…
“You know Blaine Elwood?” she asked incredulously as I slid in beside her. I couldn’t help but be taken aback by her blatant disregard for the word hello.
“His step-mum and my mum are old friends,” I replied nonchalantly.
“Oh my god, you’re British!”
I know.
“Do you know Robert Pattinson?” she asked enthusiastically.
Is this chick for real?
“Sure, he came round for tea with the queen last week.” Her bright green eyes widened in astonishment.
“She’s fucking with you,” the most deliciously deep, smooth voice in the world interrupted. He laughed and I swear I could hear several people around us literally piss their pants.
“Blaine! What are you doing here?” the shamefully dumb blonde next to me asked, her face falling like she’d had a stroke as she gawped up at Blaine. Honest to god, a shallow pool of drool formed on the curve of her lips threatening to spill over at any given moment. I hadn’t noticed him creep up beside me and my heart began to thud so loudly I was almost certain he would be able to hear it.
“This paper was due in yesterday. I just found it in my locker and thought I’d drop it in. Better late than never.”
“Are you going to Wayne’s party a week on Saturday?” she asked eagerly and my eyes blinked rapidly as my brain struggled to catch up with the fact this wasn’t déjà vu – this was life actually repeating itself.
“Probably.” He gave the same answer in the same uninterested tone as he did the last girl who fluttered her eyelashes at him.
“Me too.” She grinned like a desperate idiot, twisting a rogue tendril of her hair (which had been bleached to the point of being almost white) around her small finger. At that moment in time I was feeling fairly confident I would not be coming back tomorrow.
“I’ve gotta get going. I’ll wait outside for you, Maddie.” I nodded a little too eagerly and realised I had just turned into the puppy-eyed blonde to my left.
“O.M.G are you two like a thing?”
“No!” Wow, I wasn’t expecting that to sting so badly. What the hell was wrong with me? “We’re new to the area and like I said my mum knows his family. He’s just being friendly.”
“Blaine Elwood doesn’t do friendly. Blaine Elwood does screwing and fighting and not much else. I’m telling you he’s crushing on you, girl.” I allowed myself to consider her words for a second, and then immediately wanted to slap myself for being so stupid.
“That’s ridiculous. He’s just showing me around, that’s all.” Blondie surrendered her palms.
“Whatever you say. I’m Lori. Lori Hanson.” Lori offered her tiny manicured hand to shake and flashed me a genuinely warm smile. It was like she was actually happy to be sat with me. I shook her hand gratefully, pathetically desperate for her to like me.
“Maddie Davis.”

5 stars Wow! Nicola always manages to knock my off my feet with her writing. Some is hard to read, really hard. But it's always told so well, with characters that are just so real it's hard not to feel anything. As a matter of fact, I don't think it's possible not to feel something when you're reading Nicola's work. I have read a few of Nicola's books at this point and can honestly say, with every book she surprises me. I love that she can write about such heavy topics, but also brings you to feel those emotions and to care for the characters deeply. This book is no different in that aspect.
I loved Blaine and Maddie together, no matter what. There are some surprises, but that's just now Nicola rolls. She always manages to catch me off guard in one way or another. Things aren't always just as they seem. There's always something going on. Blaine and Maddie both made me cry at different times, not gonna lie, this was an emotional read. Ups and downs, but that's life, right? What amazed me was the way in which Blaine and Maddie seemed to come together and have fantastic chemistry from the beginning, and I always love that. What I love most is that Nicola always makes me feel. That's an amazing talent right there. Love it!

Sweet Rome (Sweet Home #2) by Tillie Cole Release Day Blitz

Sweet Rome (Sweet Home #2) by Tillie Cole

New Adult Contemporary Romance
Self Published on 30th January 2014

ABOUT SWEET ROME

You met Romeo Prince in the Amazon & USA Today bestselling novel, Sweet Home. Now hear the story from his lips: unbarred, uncensored and raw to the bone.

It makes me laugh when I hear that folk think Mol and I rushed into it too fast, spouting that we couldn't possibly have felt what we did for each other in such a short space of time. I say, how the hell would they know? We made it, didn't we? She became my whole life, didn't she? And as for my folks not being real, being true? Tell that to me aged ten, eleven, twelve — damn, all my bastard life — when I was never enough, when I was beaten until I bled for being too good at football and not being everything they'd dreamed: the perfectly dutiful son. Tell that to thousands of kids around the world getting wailed on by asshole parents for whatever stupid reason; tell them that evil don't exist in their eyes.

Fuck Romeo and Juliet: this is the story of me and my girl, from my lips. No mushy sentiment, no cheese, just the plain, hard truth, and, because I'm feeling generous, I'm going to let you in on more of our story too.

Sweet Rome is a New Adult Companion Novel to Sweet Home — contains adult content, sexual situations and mature topics. Suited for ages 18 and up.

ABOUT TILLIE COLE

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Sin For Love by Claudia Bradshaw Cover Reveal with Excerpt

Title: Sin For Love
Author: Claudia Bradshaw
Release Day: March 14, 2014

Goodreads Link:

Synopsis:
Tessa “Rain” Donahue believed she was happy. Dancing in a burlesque show at the ‘Happy Valley Cabaret’ gave her a sense of power. Shots of tequila gave her courage. One-night-stands gave her variety. Her nights usually ended as the sun was rising. Her head held high as she walked away from a stranger’s warm bed, high heels in hand. Tessa thought she had all she ever wanted.

Reese Nichols, owner of the custom motorcycle shop ‘Deadly Seven’, was living his dream. He was his own boss, never having to answer to anyone. To him, money was no object. What he lacked, however, was something that money couldn’t buy. Reese woke up every morning knowing she was out there—his soul mate. One drunken night years ago Reese met Madame Miranda, the carnival fortune teller who instructed him on how to find the one who was meant for him. With his plan in place, Reese searched for the only one who could pass the test.

Tragedy kept Reese and Tessa from realizing their fate years ago. Destiny brought them back together for another chance. Would Reese recognize that she was something special? Would Tessa figure out that it was all a test? Through it all, would they both sin for love?

Excerpt:
I heard the drums start to boom and I knew it was time for Ginger to start her solo.  She was one of my favorites to watch and I had learned so much from her since I started dancing.  She had a Jane of the Jungle theme this month complete with animal noises, a huge python, and a vine to swing from.  It was really going well.  I turned around to watch her but what I found instead was someone watching me.

He was leaning up against the railing that overlooked the floor full of tables, while everyone else was watching the stage he was watching me.  I let my eyes roam over him as he stood about fifteen feet away from me.  He was wearing a black leather motorcycle jacket over a simple gray teeshirt, black jeans, and black boots.  He must have been just over six feet tall and his shirt and jacket weren't doing much to disguise what had to be an amazing body… How is this shit even legal?  I thought to myself.  Shouldn't he have to carry a badge or at least come with a warning that looking at him would lead to a bunch of conditions; increased heart rate, shallow breathing, panting like a dog, and instantly wet panties?

The drums for Ginger's dance were pounding in my ears and I swear they were speeding up to match my quickly increasing heart rate.  When my gaze came back up to his face I felt a sucker punch to the chest that knocked the breath out of me.  His eyes locked onto mine and it was like he was laying me open in front of him, like I couldn't hide any part of myself from him.  I have never felt so naked in my entire life even though I took off all of my clothes in front of a crowd four nights a week.

"Fuck me." I sighed under my breath.
