Spotlight on Suddenly Beautiful by Boone Brux with Review

Blurb: Being the son of Aphrodite isn’t a walk in the clouds. Rebelling against his demi-god status, billionaire make-up mogul Toraos Stephanos fights to separate his personal life and the immortal world by swearing off demi-god girlfriends forever. Too bad his newest employee can't take the hint.

Though Nikki secretly pines for her smoking hot boss, no way will she jeopardize her job and independence professing her love to a guy so clearly out of her league. Too bad that leaves her with only imagining him naked and thinking evil thoughts about the new girl. After a single bottle of Ambrosia and one night of passion... Nikki finally thinks she has a chance with the man of her dreams. But the next morning, Tor pretends like nothing happened, leaving Nikki with an emerging drive for combat—after all, turns out she is the daughter of Ares and she's about to make her mama proud.

All is fair in love and war... and Nikki's not about to let anyone forget it.

My Review:  5 stars
Nikki and Tor have a working relationship, and it's just perfect as far at Tor is concerned. Nikki on the other hand, isn't so happy. She's certain Tor has no idea she even has feelings for him. One business dinner changes everything - for Nikki. There's some Ambrosia and Tor drinks it, which leads to a night of unbridled passion between Nikki and Tor; which catches Nikki completely, but happily off guard. Except that Tor doesn't exactly remember what happened. And that makes Nikki an unhappy girl. But Nikki comes up with great ways of making Tor pay attention to her while torturing him all at once. This book had me laughing in places, and wanting to punch a certain demigod for his lack of attention to Nikki in others.

I knew just from reading the blurb about this book that I would love it. And I do. All things Gods, Goddesses, mythological related - any pantheon - I love reading the new stories that people come up with. Let's face it, the Gods and Goddesses have been around for a long time, so bringing them forward in time only produces more possibilities for fabulous stories. Boone has done just that. This was a great read from beginning to end. Very well written, the story just flowed from one scene to the next. The characters were well thought out, especially Tor and Nikki. Stacy and Creed were great supporting characters who helped move the storyline and other things along. I thought that the way Boone wrote Ares was excellent. Nikki skillfully managed Ares into doing what she wanted. I was laughing so hard in those scenes. Like father, like daughter. Priceless. Boone is definitely on my future to read list.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
