The Winter Girl by Elodie Parkes

Blurb: Lily Prescott is only just over a relationship break up when she decides to take up residence in a house left to her by her recently deceased grandmother. Her corporate law job takes a back seat as she licks her wounds in the small country town. She looks around the main shopping street and discovers people who will befriend her, but she also runs into the town’s most eligible bachelor and secret bad boy, Starr Forrester.

Loved for his lifelong association with the town, Starr hides his methods for staying single well from his friends. He’s nearly thirty, gorgeous, a designer, owns a business and on the lookout for his ‘Winter Girl’….

Will it be Lily? What is a ‘Winter girl’?

Fun, sex, romance and a little twist of the paranormal, makes this a must read.

My Review: 5 stars
I have to admit that when I first decide to read a book, I read the blurb about it. I did that this time, but I guess I still came away thinking this was going to be something it wasn't. I read a lot of paranormal books, so I assumed wrongly that this book would have something to do this the Fae. Couldn't have been farther from the truth, although it did make me wonder for a while there. This is a wonderful story about two people, Starr (Ash) and Lily, who are both looking for different things. Ash is looking for his Winter Girl - the girl he spends the winter with, then leaves. Lily is just looking to relieve some sexual tension, she's just got out of a relationship, lost her grandmother - not a great time to start anything. Things take a turn as the passion that Ash and Lily feel for each other creeps into their lives. This was a great read, over far too quickly for me. I loved the way Elodie wrote the sex scenes by letting you inside the characters head to let you know what he/she was feeling. Very sensual, very sexy, very hot! I will re-read again and keep my eye out for more of Elodie's writing. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

From Elodie Parkes: I live in the United Kingdom and I work in an antiques shop as well as writing. I have two dogs that keep me fit with their need for walks. Love the countryside and the coast.
I write romance, contemporary, and erotic with a twist of mystery, suspense, or the paranormal, now and then. I like to make the story unusual in some way, by a quirk in the tale. My books are always steamy.
