Long Way Home by Ann Vaughn with Review

Synopsis:

Shane McCanton and Tessa Kelly were childhood enemies. Everything was a contest to them and Tessa always seemed to show Shane that nice guys finished last. Things change, however, when hormones take over and Shane begins to see the perpetual thorn-in-his-side as more than just his childhood nemesis...

Tessa had never meant to set into motion events that led to their childhood rivalry, but once it started, she embraced it with gusto - until her world started to fall apart and she realized that Shane was the one constant in her life, her rock who would never leave her and help her find her Long Way Home...

My Review: 5 stars
I can’t believe this book, it stunned me. It really took you full circle in the lives of two people. This book takes you from kindergarten through an amazing amount of ups and downs for Tessa and Shane. Those include high school, college, difficult career choices; all the while remaining friends at the very least. They knew that the other held their heart no matter how much it hurt to be apart. This book was amazing and painful and the last half of the book just wrenched my heart out. The things that two people who love each other go through and put each other through sometimes makes me wonder. But you don’t get to choose who you love, and sometimes that love is everything. It is your light shining in the darkest place, and comfort just knowing the other is there for you. Ann did a fantastic job with the characters in this book. At times I really didn’t enjoy where the storyline took me, but it was what it needed to be in order to tell it. I just loved how the whole thing went full circle especially that little bit at the end in the classroom. That just made it a little bit better. I'm really looking forward to reading more of Ann's work, because this book just - there aren't enough words. It was incredible, and I'll leave it at that.
