This is such a great book. I read until I couldn't read anymore, because I started so late. I went to sleep with this book on my mind last night and it was my first coherent thought of the day. But I didn't want to put it down. Yeah, there are some things that happens in this book that are just so wrong, but that's the ugly truth of how some people are. Jenna/Ice, man my heart breaks for everything she goes through. Chipper saved her from certain death and gave her a real life, a real family. Kidd makes mistakes, several huge ones that come back to bite him. He does regret them, but once he realizes what's happening with Ice, he steps up and doesn't back down. I like that in a man. Yeah, there are some things that aren't exactly savory, but real life isn't always the way you want. I think that Dawn & Emily have done a fantastic job with this book showing the very real, dangerous, dirty, loving, sometimes criminal inside of an MC. They show the strength, the power, and the ruthlessness of the people in control, and the submission of everyone beneath them. The coming together of many people to make an MC that makes a family - granted it's a sometimes dysfunctional family, but when you need someone to have your back. It is about willingly trusting someone to make the best decisions for the entire family above all. And knowing that they will be there when you need them, blood or not. They are there for you 100%. I can't wait, can't wait until the next book comes out. I really loved this one and pretty much everything about it. There were some parts that made me cry, and definitely some that made me want to punch someone in the face. But that is exactly why I love books like this, because I connect to the characters so much. These characters will stay with me long after today, they make me want to come back and visit, stay a while.

I'm writing Derek.

I drink too much, Swear too much,
and Read too much. Yes I read too much. I don't have a filter, and I tend to

I'm a beta reader for many
authors, I'm on a few authors ARC list, because apparently I'm THAT awesome. ;)
And I also edit. Not a professional, but I do help a few with that.
I have two children, 5&2, and
have another on the way. They bug the shit outta me, but hey, that's what kids
are supposed to do. ;) Married since 2007. He's amazing, but he's also a bigger
pain in my ass than my kids are.
I love to read, and I love being
able to write stories that *I* want to read!
