My Review: 4 1/2 stars
This was a fun story to read. Jake and Georgie are both a bit impulsive, a bit wild. Trying to do things the way they want to, the way they need to have them, because they think no one else really understands. They both have their reasons for doing what they're doing, and keep that pain to themselves as much as possible. Jake thinks that he doesn't need anyone, and wants to keep it that way. Georgie thinks that her being wild is a way to get away from her Dad's inattention. For a while, they're both content that way. But in the span of 24 hours all that changes. Jake and Georgie reconnect after several years, and it is a night to remember. Georgie then needs Jake to be a model for a photo shoot, and works out a deal to convince him to do what she wants. She actually is quite smart, she doesn't give herself enough credit. Once Georgie has made the deal, she realizes that she wants to do something with the land that she believes belongs to her family. Turns out she's wrong. But this is the land that Jake is living on, making his living with. They are each given a month to come up with proposals by the property owner. That leads to a very interesting month, one where as much as Jake and Georgie can't keep their hands off each other, they also can't stop saying the wrong thing at the wrong time to each other. Then there's another issue that comes up that has Georgie running away and Jake believing the worst of her. Life is never easy, at least worthwhile things never are. Jake and Georgie need to figure out if what they have is worth saving, or if they're just going to walk away. I love the whole story, loved that it was set in England, I think. But it was a quick read, not too serious, but did deal with some serious things. I'm looking forward to more from Zara.
