My Review: 4 1/2 stars
This turned out to be a very good book. At first I was wondering what the hell was going on, because Rafael knew Sophie, but she didn't know him. Then there's the whole loan sharks after Sophie because of what her Dad did, that was a bit confusing but after a while I got it. Sophie feels something for Rafael when she first sees him, and when he kisses her - it makes her sit up and take notice. She's been trying to take care of everything on her own since her Dad died a few years ago, but seems to be running out of luck. I absolutely loved when Rafael told Sophie who he was, she was so stunned. Brilliant, I thought. I loved learning about Hawk, Dani and Jace. All very interesting characters who make the main characters better. Hawk has some direct involvement in why Sophie and Rafael don't take things to a physical level quicker, but I thought that rather worked in their favor, because they got to know each other as they are now - not as they were. I loved that Rafael was willing to give up everything for Sophie. Because his heart had never given up on her. Cecelia did a great job with the first book in this series. Wonderful, brilliantly told, I can't wait for the next book in the series which is featuring Hawk and Dani. That's got to be one hell of a story, I'm looking forward to it.
