Deanna Drake has a past she longs to forget, but won't ever be able to. She's always been the tough one. No one, but her best friend Zara has ever been able to penetrate her cold, hard, shell.
Until Griz.
Griz— a.k.a Grady Daniels, Hawks Motorcycle Club second in command, also has a past that he wishes he could undo...all except one part.
It's her past that brings them together. Only will it be forever?
Holy hotness!! I really loved that when Griz, Talon, Zara, Blue, and the rest of the crew found out what was happening with Deanna that not only did Griz not wait for thing to get worse, he took action immediately and implanted himself right into Deanna's world.
Griz/Grady was just amazing in this book. I about fell over when we found out about Swan, but what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I literally laughed out loud when Grady just plopped into bed with Deanna that first night, and she just went right ahead with what she was doing. OMG!! That was hilarious at first, then well, turnabout is fair play. That scene was so freaking hot it could have melted the sheets and then some. Oh damn, when he almost came apart because she said his real name, then asked her to say it again - Whew! That was not only sexy as hell, but showed how much he wanted her and allowed him to show his vulnerability, even for a moment, which just made it that much better. I loved the things that he would say to Deanna, they were so freaking sexy and just, damn.
Grady messed up a time or two with Deanna, but she really took it all in stride. For the most part, she knew he was just angry about the situation, but damn I loved when they made up and how. I loved that Grady made sure that Deanna was a priority and that she knew it. I honestly don't know why he would have a problem with their age difference - love is love. Your heart wants what it wants and until you give in, you're just going to be miserable. I loved that Deanna accepted both Swan and Grady into her life and just wanted things to be better for both of them. I loved that she took the initiative with Swan and tried to do the best for her, no matter that she knew Grady was going to be pissed.
I have loved reading this series, and really hope that Lila is far from finished with it. I love the humor, the dedication the men have to their women and their MC, their brothers. I also love that they take no shit, and that they're willing to mete out punishment to offenders in their territory who cross the line. I'm looking forward to Blue's story which is up next.
Lila Rose has moved about Australia a lot of her life. Now she lives in country Victoria Australia with her husband and two children. When she isn't writing she's helping her husband with the family business. Lila has always dabbled in writing, though, only recently her debut novel Holding Out was released on December 4th 2013.
Be sure to keep an eye out for more from the Hawks Motorcycle Club series, coming soon!
