Carter was captivated by Ellyson Evans the moment he laid eyes on her,
but she was the one girl who didn't beg for his attention.
He wanted her.
Ellyson vowed to never fall in love, because love can destroy you,
but then she met Carter Jennings.
She wanted him.
Unwilling to risk their comfortable friendship, neither confessed their desires.
Losing touch after college, a chance meeting reconnects them.
They want each other.
But love in the city is never quite that easy.
My Review: 5 stars
Such a great read! I loved reading all about Carter and Elly. I think they were just meant to be and it just took a little longer for everything to get aligned just right. I was glad that after they reconnected they didn't mess around with letting the other know just where they stood and what they wanted from the other. Yes, they had their problems, but what couple doesn't. The important thing is that they made each other the priority and didn't waste any more time than they already had. I was glad that they both have such great friends and that they were there for both Carter and Elly when they were needed. Also, Carter standing up to his Mom like that was amazing - I loved it. I was very happy that both of their families were there for them, and that they were able to form friendships with the other's siblings and chosen family. I loved they way the book ended, that was good. So good. What I want now is more of this amazing group of friends and family, because they were all important. This book made me feel a lot of things, but when it ended happiness was the best feeling to be left with. Steph did a great job with all of the many characters, main and supporting, and the story line was fantastic as well. If this is just the first book in the series, I can't wait to see what the rest brings.
