My Review: 4 stars
This was a pretty quick read. I liked Gabby a lot. She seemed like someone who had a lot of spirit and creativity, but wasn't exactly shown how to direct it. Which is why she got into trouble. T.J. however, had way too much direction in his life. He was expected to do a great many things, be great wonderful things. Together, back in high school, they evened each other out. They were best friends who never gave anything more than a friendship a chance. Years have passed, and now Gabby is setting out on a road trip to get her career back on track. She's bringing along Charlie, a dog she's watching, and T.J. - a last minute addition to the trip. With Charlie and T.J. along, everything doesn't go as planned. Things go even better. It looks like fate may have bigger things in store for Gabby and T.J. I really enjoyed the story line, the getting reacquainted with each other after so many years, to see if you really know that person like you think. Taking a chance on each other and the future. I liked T.J. despite his hiding who he had become, I think it was a necessary element in him figuring out if Gabby really was the one for him. It was all about whether they belonged together or not because of who they are now and what they meant to each other then. Great writing Shirley! Loved Gabby and T.J. together.
