My Review: 4 1/2 stars
Jackie did a great job with this book. I understand where Mia was coming from. If you've never had anyone that's truly been there for you, you don't know how to accept that someone would want to. It's really a foreign concept. Mia has always had everyone leave her, so when things got too involved for her, she would just end things and move on. With the oh, so lovable Charlie's help, Mia is going to be nudged in the right direction, for her own good. Gideon is Mia's ex, he loves her and still wants her, but can't get over her. In order to do that, he's selling his home and his practice and moving away. Mia is now taking care of Charlie since Dell and Marney are on their honeymoon. The last thing Marney tells her as she's leaving is that Charlie has an appointment with the town veterinarian - Gideon. I've got to say I really am enjoying the stories that the women who have written this series have come up with. Charlie is a part of every single one, and he's quite the little adorable matchmaker. Jackie tells a great story about love and trust, and learning to let down your walls to let love in. To let love stay.
