My Review: 4 1/2 stars
This was a good story. I liked that Marlene had gotten her life together and was trying to move on from the past. Luke came back into Marlene's life when she certainly didn't expect him to, with the intention of winning his family back. Marlene is pretty pissed, and I would be too, considering he left her four years ago to deal with having a baby alone. To be honest, I totally feel for Marlene. She had a hard time dealing with things, but that doesn't mean that Luke didn't have a difficult time adjusting to life without her and his child and the guilt that goes along with that. Finn was always waiting for Marlene to give him an opening into her life. He thought with Luke long gone, and Marlene finally agreeing to date him, he'd have a real shot with her. He didn't count on Luke coming back either. Finn, in my opinion, was just not realistic with what he wanted. It was like he wanted Marlene because she used to be Luke's, at least that's how it came across to me. There were a few scenes in this book that were just to awesome and brought tears to my eyes, when Luke first met Nil I thought that was pretty cool, and it also showed that things don't always turn out like you think. But then Nil warmed up to Luke, and that was really good to see also. Marlene has some tough choices to make between Luke and Finn, but can you really walk away from love like they had again? I really enjoyed the surprise with Marlene's grandma there towards the end, that was pretty sweet. I really loved the end of the book, was completely taken by surprise, and I really liked that. Nicole did a great job with the story line, the characters, and just making everything work out as well as it did.
