TAKEN
BY LOVE is the first of six hot, wealthy, and wickedly naughty Braden cousins,
and the newest additions to the BRADEN series by New York Times & USA Today
bestselling and award-winning author Melissa Foster.
Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumors sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again—but she’s completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her—and the man she’s never forgotten.
Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he’s finally ready to settle down—only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he’s never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighboring town, Luke’s past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.
A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy’s life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can’t manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

My Review: 5 stars
This is the first book that introduces the Braden cousins who come from Trusty, Colorado, just a short drive from Weston where Hal Braden's family was raised. I've got to say, I have loved every single Braden I've met, and this book is no different. This book introduces all the Braden cousins, but focuses on the youngest, Luke.
Luke Braden is a little bit of a hot head when it comes to other men pushing women around. He won't stand for it one little bit. He doesn't go out of his way to start things, and he doesn't push either, but he won't tolerate the behavior. Luke was a bit of a player until a couple years ago when he bought a ranch and started his horse farm. Daisy Honey has come back to Trusty to help take care of her dad, and figure out which direction she wants her life to take. She just didn't count on meeting Luke and the connection that's there for them both from the beginning. Daisy got as far away from Trusty when she graduated high school, and thought she had left it all behind her. Being home isn't easy for her, it brings up a lot of unwanted and unwarranted memories that do more than sting a little. The journey that these two take together is unexpected for both of them, but so rewarding and fulfilling at the same time.
Luke and Daisy come together and the sparks that fly between them are amazing. They support each other in everything they do and they don't push too hard to get too where they end up. They let things progress naturally, and it's fantastic. There are a few twists that are amazing and stunning, but always making the story better and more understandable. This is a must read for anyone who loves not just a great story, but one with romance, ranching, small town life and a more than a few hot cowboys. I can't wait for the next book in this new Braden series. They're always fantastic and I haven't read one thing that Melissa has written that has even come close to disappointing yet. Her work is always compelling, well written and has the most amazing characters that I can't help but love.
